Gary Monterosso is a television and radio host, and an award winning writer, whose columns appear regularly in BARBEBUE & Beverage, a magazine that is distributed throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, and parts of Europe. He also serves as the New Jersey editor for Mid-Atlantic Brewing News, and writes for two food publications that are distributed in southern New Jersey, northern Delaware, and eastern Pennsylvania. His reports are heard in the Delaware Valley on the Ed Hitzel Show, a popular food and beverage radio broadcast.
Recently, Gary signed on with the producers of BeerTelevision. The half-hour show is in pre-syndication in various cities and can be viewed at www.beertelevision.com. He moderates a segment called "WhatzOnTap," in which he visits breweries, brewpubs, and festivals, reporting on the many fine beers available along the East Coast. He recently said, "I enjoy getting involved with ground floor opportunities and am appreciative that management has offered me a chance to appear on their show. I am excited by the concept and value the fact that the organizers are stressing responsible consumption."
In October 2002, Gary won two national awards for writing excellence, as presented by the North American Guild of Beer Writers. He previously won one other award in 2001. In 2000, he co-founded the New Jersey Association of Beerwriters, dedicated to the promotion of quality craft beer produced in New Jersey.
He has taught classes in beer appreciation throughout southern New Jersey and Philadelphia, and is available for beer dinners, seminars, or corporate gatherings.
Listen for his WhatzOnTap radio segment on Ed Hitzel's "Table For One," every other Saturday on WOND AM (1400) or WONZ AM (1580) from 10:00am-1:00pm. The Sunday show on WVLT-FM 92.1 airs from 10:30-11:00am. It also is heard on Drexel University radio on 91.7 FM.
